- Observation of Reactions: paying close attention to body language and facial expression for signs of discomfort or agitation.
- Ask Permission: Asking for permission at various stages of the massage
- Dignity: Maintaining highest regard for the client and their caregivers intentions and requests at all times.
- Caregiver Presence: It is always encouraged and welcomed to have caregiver attend the scheduled session if they can.
- Caregiver Support: By sharing expertise, perspective, and session anecdotes it may assist the caregiver to improve their personal experience of this journey.
- Discontinue if Necessary: If the massage session is experiencing increased agitation then it may be prudent to discontinue the session.
